Shaun studied contemporary dance at the University of Roehampton, graduating in 2012 with a BA Hons in Dance Studies.
Contemporary dance tutor – Shaun has extensive teaching experience, which has been delivered across the UK, at primary, secondary and Undergraduate levels respectively. Most notably at Sadler’s Wells, LABAN, Roehampton University and as a London Ambassador for Matthew Bourne’s ‘Lord of the Flies’.
Shaun has established himself as an exciting new and upcoming London based choreographer, seeing his first professional work RISE selected as part of EMERGE 2013 gaining 4* reviews respectively. He created his first solo work Hiraeth (2014), which has been performed around the UK, and ‘Жінки’ (2014) receiving mentorship from the BalletBoyz.
Shaun is the artistic director of Dillon Dance, which he set up in 2015, working on various commissions and employing teachers and dancers to work with him on projects around London and the UK. Shaun Worked in collaboration with Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures and Re:Bourne to create the ‘TIDAL’ on the ‘Lord of the Flies’ Legacy cast for London, Which was performed at Sadler’s Wells.
His works ‘That’s not how he wants it’ and ‘We Stand Alone Together’ were shown at The Place as part of Resolution. In the spring/summer of 2016 Shaun worked with 7 young female dancers on ‘Where We Are’ a new work that was performed as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Shaun has worked for Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures and Re:Bourne, Flexus Dance Theatre, Third Row Dance Company, Volkosti Cossacks, and C-12 Dance Theatre. Working with established choreographers such as Katy Sterran, Shaun Parker, James Finnemore, Annie-Lunette Deakin-Foster, Mari Frogner, and Georgia Tegou.
Shaun’s passion and commitment to youth and education has also lead to his work being showcased by A-D-1 and B-D-1 youth dance companies as one of the selected choreographers to represent London in UDANCE 2012 and 2013.
